THINK THAI
The "Think Thai" Initiative was created by us as a way to promote, grow support for, and strengthen the Thai community here in the United States. To be successful, this endeavor requires a collective effort by all of us to change the way we think and act towards one another in the Thai community. As with other asian communities like the Japanese, Koreans, and Chinese, we too as Thai people must help each other. We believe that those who are here in the United States and have already established themselves, have a duty to assist new arrivals in becoming rooted and acquainted with this country. Although many new immigrants do have family here that can help them with life in America, there are countless others that don't. We need to lend our support to these people too.

The general goals behind the "Think Thai" Initiative are:

(1) To create a greater bond in the Thai community. When we say "Thai Community", we basically mean everyone. Every Thai person, whether born in Thailand or Not, regardless of whether or not you have Naturalized, is included. I know there are many generous and loving Thai people who do kind things for others, but from what I have been told by friends, clients, and other people, there are also many of those that are jealous of others, those that try to push them under, or hope for their failure. These same people only do good things because they know someone is watching. Let's do away with that type of ill-will. If we all work together to succeed, we all win!

(2) To support the growth of Thai businesses and Thai entrepreneurship. Within the past several years I have seen an expansion of Thai-owned businesses. As a Thai business owner myself, as well as having represented many Thai businesses, this growth is fantastic. Not only are we playing a part in strenghtening the economy, but also the Thai community as a whole. Not that long ago people would refer to Thai food as "Asian" food or "Chinese", and many others had never eaten Thai food. Today, Thai food can stand on its own and almost everyone knows of and has eaten Thai food. With the increased popularity of Thai food, comes interest in our people, the culture, and Thailand; that's just one example of how expansion and growth of Thai businesses has stregthened our community. As good as it has been, I want to see more! If you are a business owner, grow and expand. And with that growth and expansion, do more for the community. If you are a patron, customer, or client, please know that you too are helping the Thai community. In this sense, "Think Thai" happens whenever we feel the need to shop or have a service performed and immediately think about a Thai-owned business that we can buy from or use. For those not yet thinking "Thai"...the next time you what to buy something, fix something, etc., please "think Thai" first. We are all doing our part to strengthen the community!

By "thinking Thai" first, we hope to help one another flourish and grow as a community residing here in the U.S.  This section is therefore dedicated to providing links, information, events, and anything and everything that we think will further help the Thai community. Please feel free to contact us should you have any ideas, or wish to highlight something you think would be useful to push this movement even further. Thank you!
